Tsundoko
Tsundoko is the Japanese habit of collecting books and letting them pile up, while still cherishing the possibility of reading them one day. This sculpture portrays Tsundoko with hand-sewn 3” mini books all piled up and glued together. All 12 are sewn together with linen thread in the coptic stitch and are covered with Japanese papers. SIZE is 4.5” tall. This artist book was shown at the Mark Twin Gallery in a New England Book Artist exhibition.
