This journal is covered with music score paper.   Inside is actual music manuscript paper for composing or even just writing.  It is sewn with black linen thread in the coptic stitch.  This type of stitch allows the book to open completely flat.  Black paper on the inside covers match the sewing thread.   Size is 4" square - a handy size to pop in your bag to jot down a quite "note".
