This unique hand-sewn journal displays plants and grids using a wet cyanotype technique. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process. The background is cyan blue color and the images are made using the sunlight. I used plants and metal grids to create the images. There was a soda ash dip that creates the contrasting grey on the back cover. Covers are also waxed to protect the images.The inside endpapers are a contrasting orange paper. This book is sewn in the coptic stitch binding with blue linen thread. This sewing style allows the journal to open completely flat. Inside are 96 blank white pages of Multi - Media paper. This paper allows painting.
