This is a hand-sewn journal with dyed Indigo covers. I dyed the cloth in a workshop with rice resist stencils. The black dots were printed on the cotton fabric and the white came through from the stencil. Later I backed the fabric with Yasutomo rice paper to create book cloth. Inside endpapers are indigo dyed papers. The book is sewn in the coptic stitch with blue linen thread. This sewing style enables the book to open completely flat for easy sketching or journaling. There are 128 blank text pages of Strathmore drawing paper. SIZE is 7" x 7”. This is a one of a kind gift.
